COMMUNITY FOOTBALL

At the forefront of our thinking in all our activities and events is ‘IS IT FUN?’

Young people are amazing, full of energy, excited about life and open to learning new things and trying new experiences. We aim to make everything we do fun and exciting whilst trying to organise activities, clubs and events that are educational, of good quality, accessible to all and in places where we feel we can also demonstrate the love of God to young people and see them grow into loving, caring and responsible adults.

Description

Started in 2022, this project is proposed as an open free football coaching and developing project.

Each session will take place within the Hoxton community of Hackney. This will also be open to the young members of the church to attend. The session will see a FA qualified coach take a football session for 2 hours. These sessions will take place at the Rosemary Football Pitch. The two sessions will see different age groups participate in the session. Sessions 1 is for ages 13 – 17, While ages 18 – 25 participate in session 2. The Coach will take the participants in each session through a set of drills and then end each session with a small match.

Objective

The objective of the session is to first and foremost create a safe and uplifting space for the young people in the community of Hackney, thereby deterring them from negative influences.

The Pastoral care given to the young people at the start of each session will positively impact the young people participating. It will allow participants to again have a space to open up about any situation and build positive relationships.

It is essential that our young people remain active and fit, and what better way than using the national sport, Football.
